Product Overview:
This 6mm AR450 Armour Face Plate is a bolt-on, field-ready upgrade for the REACK X-Base. It’s designed to shield the main body of the base from direct impacts, stray shots, and fragment energy when used with rimfire, air, and light-duty calibres. Rated for air, CO2, .22LR, .22 Magnum, .17 HMR, birdshot, and low-energy handgun use, this plate offers the ideal balance of weight and durability for rimfire-focused shooting environments.

Although the REACK X-Base sits low and typically out of the direct line of fire, rare impacts to the centre body can cause sharp and unpredictable deflection. This plate is designed to absorb and control those impacts, helping to eliminate any forward-facing exposure and giving shooters peace of mind when operating at closer distances.

Mounted using a recoil spring system, the plate flexes slightly under impact to help redirect energy and preserve the long-term condition of your REACK base. For best results, we recommend using this armour plate on every REACK setup, regardless of calibre.

This system acts as a two-way defence:
✔ It helps stop projectiles from hitting the base directly, reducing wear and impact damage.
✔ It also helps trap and redirect shrapnel or splash, preventing fragments from reaching the firing line and enhancing shooter safety.

Why Not Armour the Whole Base?
It might seem like making the entire REACK base out of armour steel would improve safety—but it doesn’t solve the real issue. Because of how the base is shaped, a projectile that hits the centre can still deflect in unpredictable ways, no matter how strong the material is. The angles of the base are what cause these deflections—not the steel itself.

Even if we made the base from armour plate, we would still have to use a protective front cover to shield the main body from the shooter’s line of sight. In that case, you’d just be putting armour in front of armour, which adds weight and cost with no real benefit.

Instead, we’ve designed a smarter system: keep the base lightweight and easy to handle, and use a replaceable armour face plate to protect the critical front section. It’s available in three material options, so you can choose the right balance of weight and protection for your setup.

The 6mm AR450 version offers a durable, rated solution for rimfire, air-powered, and low-energy shooting—giving you true protection without compromise.
