The “Clear-Shot” AR500 CENTREFIRE / LIGHT RIFLE Target Bundle is a robust, post-mounted training solution built for shooters running centrefire handguns, pistol-calibre carbines (PCCs), and light rifles such as .223 Rem, 5.56 NATO, and .300 Blackout. Constructed with 10mm AR500 Armour Plate, this system delivers enhanced paddle control, reduced violent actuation, and increased durability over lighter 8mm AR500 setups—especially when using high-velocity or higher-energy loads.

Designed around the classic “flip-the-paddle, don’t-hit-the-torso” challenge, this system rewards disciplined shooting while withstanding demanding calibres at safe distances.

✔ Upgrade from 8mm – Retains the same calibre ratings but provides improved target longevity and smoother feedback when used with rifles.
✔ Paddle Optimised for Control – Balanced flipping and lock-in bracket ensure consistent operation without paddle jump or over-travel.
✔ Post-Mounted System – Uses a standard 90x35mm timber post (not included), easily replaceable or upgradable over time.

Not intended for magnum-class or high-calibre rifles.

🛑 Handgun Calibres (.22LR to .45 ACP)

  • ✔ Angled Targets (16° to 20°+): 10 metres+

  • ✔ Vertical Targets: 15 metres+

🛑 Pistol-Calibre Carbines (PCC)

  • ✔ Optimised for 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP – excellent flipping and stability

🛑 Light Rifles (.223, 5.56, .300 Blackout)

  • ✔ Angled Targets: 30 metres+

  • ✔ Vertical Targets: 50 metres+

  • ⚠ Much better suited than 8mm AR500 for frequent rifle use – improved stability and paddle actuation control.

🛑 Shotgun (Birdshot & Buckshot)

  • ✔ Angled Targets: 25 metres+

  • ✔ Vertical Targets: 30 metres+

🛑 Not Recommended For:

  • Magnum rifles

  • Ultra-low-velocity rounds (e.g. .22LR, airguns) – insufficient energy to flip paddle

🛑 Velocity & Energy Guidelines:

  • ✔ Maximum Energy: 1,500 ft-lbs

  • ✔ Maximum Velocity: 2,750 fps

  • ✔ Minimum Velocity: 750 fps

📌 While this system will physically withstand rimfire and airgun hits, it will not reliably flip the paddle under low-energy impacts. For air / .22LR training, see our Cadet or Armoured Cadet bundles instead.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Paddle flipping performance improves with higher plate weight and proper spacing.

  • If you're using centrefire rifles like .223 or 300 BLK frequently, this 10mm version is strongly recommended over the 8mm bundle to reduce excessive paddle swing and system strain.

  • Targets and paddles are supplied raw/uncoated unless otherwise stated.

  • Timber post and ground stakes not included.
