✔ .22LR Rated – Built exclusively for low-velocity rimfire (.22LR only)
✔ Reactive Movement – Spins and changes direction as targets are shot and ejected
✔ Base Selection Included – Choose from X-Base or REACK X-Base with required adapt bracket (dropdown selection)
✔ Durable Finish – Powder-coated 6mm mild steel arms and hub face plate
✔ Expandable Design – Compatible with add-on arm kits (up to 10 arms) and multiple target plate sizes
How It Works:
The Texas Star is a dynamic rotating target system featuring five steel arms radiating from a central hub. Each arm holds a round target paddle (sold separately). When a paddle is hit and falls free, the unbalanced weight distribution causes the system to begin spinning. The speed and direction of rotation changes depending on which targets are hit, in what order, and when. This creates a reactive challenge that trains shooters to adjust for motion, maintain precision under pressure, and make fast, calculated follow-up shots.
This Cadet model is designed for .22LR only. It includes five 6mm mild steel arms and a matching 6mm mild steel face plate, suitable only for low-energy rimfire. The system must not be used with .22 Magnum, .17 HMR, or any centre-fire ammunition. While users may choose to run 6mm AR450 target paddles for improved durability, the rating remains .22LR only, as the mild steel arms define the system’s overall rating. The lowest-rated material in the impact zone sets the system’s safety and performance limits.
Compatible with 100mm or 150mm round target paddles (sold separately), this modular system also supports expansion to a full 10-arm configuration with optional add-on arms. Arms and targets are interchangeable across all material types, but always follow safe setup principles:
✔ You can use thinner targets with thicker arms
✖ You should not use thicker targets with thinner arms
✖ Max System calibre rating is determined by the maximum ratings of the weakest component within the shooting zone . (either: Face Plate, Arms, Target Plate)
📌 Base Options (Select from Dropdown):
-
X-Base – Entry-level semi-portable base for standard setups (bolt together base)
-
REACK X-Base – Heavy-duty, modular base ideal for advanced reactive systems
• Includes the required 90x35 Timber Post Receiver Adapt Bracket (this bracket is essential for using a 90x35 timber post with the REACK X-Base)
⚠️ Important Note (No Base Option):
If you already own a REACK X-Base and choose to purchase this kit without a base, you will still need a 90x35 Timber Post Receiver Adapt Bracket (sold separately) to complete the setup. The REACK system does not accept a 90x35 timber post by default without this bracket.

📌 Steel Ratings – 6mm Premium Mild Steel
Rated for Air/CO₂ (.177, .22) and .22LR only
• Vertical Targets: 50 metres+
• Max Velocity: 1,200 fps at impact
• Min Velocity: 800 fps (not applicable to air guns)
Note: Not rated for .17 HMR, .22 Mag, or any higher calibre. Subsonic or lower velocity rounds may not reliably activate reactive targets.
Note: Air/CO₂ (.177, .22) air rifles and pistols are not recommended, as they may not reliably actuate the target plate due to low projectile velocity and weight. It may work in some cases, but performance will vary and is not guaranteed.
