How It Works:
The Texas Star is a rotational target system with five steel arms mounted to a central bearing hub. Each arm supports a paddle target (sold separately). When a paddle is shot and ejected, the weight imbalance causes the star to rotate. The speed and direction of the spin changes depending on which target is hit and when – creating a constantly evolving challenge that forces shooters to compensate for movement, plan their engagement order, and maintain control under dynamic conditions. It’s a proven tool for refining accuracy and reflex shooting skills.

This Cadet Armoured model is made from 6mm AR450 steel and rated for use with all rimfire calibres, including .22LR, .22 Magnum, and .17 HMR. It is also suitable for air/COβ‚‚ use in some cases, although reliable paddle actuation may not occur due to limited projectile energy. For maximum target life during high-volume rimfire use, we recommend pairing this system with 6mm AR450 paddles. The rating of the system is dictated by the lowest-rated component – never pair high-rated paddles with weaker arms, as the arm or weakest component within the shooting zone sets the system's durability and safety rating.

Compatible with 100mm or 150mm round paddles (sold separately), and expandable with optional add-on arms to create a 10-arm rotating star. Arms and paddles can be interchanged within material limits, but always follow the rule:

βœ” You can use thinner targets with thicker arms

βœ– YouΒ should not use thicker targets with thinner arms

βœ– Max System calibre rating is determined by the maximum ratings of the weakest component within the shooting zone . (either: Face Plate, Arms, Target Plate)Β

πŸ“Œ Base Options (Select from Dropdown):

  • X-Base – Basic entry-level stand for general setups

  • REACK X-Base – Heavy-duty modular base ideal for reactive target systems like Drop Trees and Duelling Trees
‒ Includes the required 90x35 Timber Post Receiver Adapt Bracket (this bracket is essential for mounting a timber post to the REACK X-Base)
⚠️ Important Note (No Base Option):
If you already own a REACK X-Base and choose the no-base version, you must also purchase the 90x35 Timber Post Receiver Adapt Bracket (sold separately), as the REACK does not accept 90x35 posts by default.

πŸ”©Β What’s Included:

  • 1 x Rotating Texas Star Face Plate – 6mm AR450 Armour Steel (Raw Finish)

  • 5 x Standard Arms – 6mm AR450 Armour Steel (Raw Finish)

  • 1 x Bearing Hub Assembly

  • All Mounting Hardware for 90x35mm Timber Post
