Product Overview

The Cadet Drop-Tree (Armoured – AR450) Bundle is an upgraded, complete reactive training system designed for shooters running .22LR, .22 Magnum, and .17 HMR. Built with a fully integrated 6 mm AR450 armour plate spine and matching AR450 armour face plate, this bundle delivers enhanced durability, safer splatter control, and closer target engagement distances compared to the unarmoured mild steel version.

Unlike a duelling tree, which flips paddles side-to-side, the Drop-Tree’s tubular track system forces the paddle to descend vertically, flipping side-to-side with each hit. Each successful shot drops the paddle to the next position, providing nine unique target positions before ejecting on the final shot.

By forcing shooters to track downward rather than relying on recoil to “ride” back up the tree, the Cadet Drop-Tree develops better sight tracking, improved accuracy, and faster target transitions, making it perfect for serious skill development and competition practice.

⚠ Important Notes:

• Not rated for centrefire rifle calibres.

• Rounds below 1,100 fps may not reliably flip paddles.

• Rounds slower than 500 fps increase ricochet risk, especially with soft lead or copper-plated rounds.

Maintenance & Track Longevity

To maximise smooth performance and lifespan:

• Lubricate Track periodically using WD-40, INOX, or Goss Lube (avoid grease-based products).

• Inspect Stop Points occasionally and file down any burrs or ledges to maintain smooth paddle descent.

• Monitor Powder-Coat Wear – Chipping is normal during break-in and doesn’t affect function.

• Replace Spine Assembly when stop points wear excessively and the paddle fails to reset reliably.
