The Cadet Drop-Tree System Bundle (Unarmoured – Mild Steel) is a budget-friendly reactive target kit designed for .22LR shooters who want to improve speed, accuracy, and target transitions. Unlike a duelling tree, which flips paddles side-to-side, the Drop-Tree uses a tubular drop-and-flip track system where a single paddle drops down one position and flips to the opposite side with each hit.

With a total of nine paddle positions, the target descends shot by shot before ejecting the paddle at the bottom, creating an engaging, progressive shooting challenge. This design forces shooters to track their sight picture downward instead of “riding recoil upward,” providing a more realistic, skill-focused training experience.

REACK X-BASE Included

The included REACK X-BASE is a collapsible, quick-deploy stand designed to provide a stable foundation for SPI reactive systems.

  • When used on the unarmoured Cadet Drop-Tree, system rating remains limited to mild steel

• Angled Targets (17°–20°+): 25m+

• Vertical Targets: 50m+

• Maximum Velocity: 1,200 fps

• Minimum Velocity: 800 fps (not applicable to airguns)

⚠ Not Rated For:

• Centrefire calibres

• Magnum rimfire (.22 Mag, .17 HMR)

• Subsonic rounds below 1,100 fps (may not reliably activate paddles)

• Rounds slower than 500 fps (increased ricochet risk)

Maintenance & Track Longevity

To keep your Drop-Tree system running smoothly:
✔ Use dry lubricants like WD-40, Goss Lube, or INOX Lube on the paddle track
✔ Avoid grease-based lubricants (attracts lead dust & debris)
✔ Inspect the reset stop position periodically; file small ledges to prevent paddle hang-ups
✔ Powder coating on the track may chip during wear-in — this is normal
✔ Replace the spine assembly if all stop points wear excessively

Following these steps extends lifespan and ensures consistent performance.
