Dual Flip Paddle Bracket – Full Kit (8mm AR500 Face Plate)
Dual Flip Paddle Bracket – Full Kit with 8mm AR500 Face Plate & x2 Flip Paddle Brackets
(For 90x35 Post Top Target Mount – Complete Add-On Kit, Just Add Paddles)
(This is a full kit – designed for users who already have the 90x35 Post Top Target Mount)
The Dual Flip Paddle Bracket Full Kit is a complete duelling-style add-on designed to bolt directly to the 90x35 Post Top Target Mount (sold separately). It includes a powder-coated steel base plate, a raw, uncoated 8mm AR500 face plate, and x2 Post Top Flip Paddle Brackets with spring-mounted deflection. This kit delivers a reactive paddle system purpose-built for centre-fire handgun training and competitive practice.
The system functions by starting both paddles in the outward-facing position. In a competitive setup, Shooter A engages the left paddle, and Shooter B engages the right paddle. When hit, each paddle swings inward into the middle. The first paddle to flip will sit at the front, clearly showing who hit their target first—providing instant visual feedback in a fast-paced, reactive format.
Key Features:
✔ Complete Target System – Includes base plate, face plate, and x2 Post Top Flip Paddle Brackets
✔ 8mm AR500 Face Plate – Raw/uncoated, armour-rated for sustained centre-fire handgun use
✔ Spring Recoil System – Allows the face plate to absorb impact and reduce stress on mounting components
✔ Powder-Coated Base Plate – Durable black finish with zinc-coated fasteners for corrosion resistance
✔ Bracket Design – Lock-in paddle slots provide smooth flipping and reliable function under impact
✔ Modular Setup – Just add paddles matched to your calibre and you're ready to train
Recommended Paddle Sizes:
✅ Best: 100mm or 150mm paddles – both sizes are ideal for centre-fire handgun use and are proportionally matched to the system
❌ Not recommended: 50mm paddles – while they may function, they are visually undersized and not well suited to this setup
⚠️ Note: While .22LR, .22 Magnum, and .17 HMR are safe to use with this face plate, they may struggle to reliably flip 100mm or 150mm paddles made from 8mm AR500 due to paddle weight.
For best performance with rimfire:
-
Use 6mm 100mm paddles in mild steel or AR450 for .22LR
-
Use 6mm AR450 paddles in 100mm or 150mm for .22 Magnum or .17 HMR
Paddle Compatibility Tips:
-
Use 6mm paddles for rimfire
-
Use 8mm paddles for centre-fire handguns
-
Stronger face plate with lighter paddles is fine, but system is rated to the weakest component
-
Example: Using mild steel paddles with this AR500 face plate limits the system to mild steel ratings
🛒 Flip paddles sold separately – see our Gongs, Paddles & Target Plate Profiles category (available in 2-packs)
Material Rating – 8mm AR500 Face Plate:
✔ Handgun Calibres: .22LR to .45 ACP
✔ Angled Use (16° to 20°+): 10 metres+
✔ Shotgun (Bird/Buck): 15 metres+
✔ Max Energy: 1,500 ft-lbs
✔ Max Velocity: 2,750 fps
✔ Min Velocity: 750 fps
❌ Not suitable for vertical use – this system is fully angled
❌ Not rated for magnum or high-velocity centre-fire rifle rounds
⚠️ Subsonic rounds (<1,100 fps) may not reliably flip heavier paddles
⚠️ Regular inspection recommended if shooting near performance limits
