IPSC-Compliant Dimensions
All SPI IPSC Popper Targets are precision cut directly to official IPSC Mini Popper and IPSC Popper dimensions with no additional border or oversized outline.
This provides shooters with a true IPSC target presentation suitable for practical shooting training, club competition, and graded IPSC matches.
Unlike many "IPSC-style" targets on the market, SPI IPSC Popper Targets are manufactured to IPSC dimensions, allowing shooters to train and compete using the same target profile and presentation expected during competition.
Configurable Target Operation
The SPI IPSC Popper Base System allows the user to configure the target in three different operating modes depending on the desired application:
✔ Forward Falling
✔ Rearward Falling
✔ Static (No Fall)
These modes can be quickly changed using the adjustment positions built into the SPI IPSC Popper Base System, allowing the same target to be used for a wide variety of competition stages, training drills, and club events.
Whether you prefer a traditional falling popper, a rearward-falling target, or a static steel target that remains standing after impact, the SPI IPSC Popper Base System can be configured to suit your requirements.
The target plate incorporates a forward-leaning design intended to help direct projectile splash downward under normal operating conditions while maintaining excellent target visibility and realistic IPSC presentation.
FREE Linking Activation Key Included
Each IPSC Competition Popper Kit includes one FREE SPI Linking Activation Key manufactured from 8MM AR500 armour steel.
The Activation Key allows the popper target to be connected to pull cords, linking cables, carabiners, and mechanical target activation systems. When the popper falls after being struck, that movement can be used to activate additional targets and stage mechanisms.
The Activation Key simply slips into one of the two activation slots built into the popper target plate and can be installed from either the front or rear of the target.
Two activation positions are provided:
✔ Lower Position – Reduced pull stroke with increased leverage
✔ Upper Position – Increased pull stroke with reduced leverage
This allows shooters and match directors to fine-tune activation characteristics depending on the intended stage design and connected target system.
The Activation Key can be installed facing either direction, providing additional flexibility when routing cables and building complex stage layouts.
The activation slots are a standard feature of all SPI IPSC Popper Target Plates.

Ground Anchoring Recommendations
The SPI IPSC Popper Base includes provisions for up to three ground spikes.
In most applications where the popper is being used as a standalone target, ground spikes are typically not required.
However, when using linking cables, pull cords, activator systems, or other mechanically connected targets, we strongly recommend anchoring the base using SPI IPSC Ground Spikes to minimize base movement during target activation.
