Round IPSC Reactive Gong for Hatchet Hanger Systems

The SPI Hatchet Gong Target Plate is a purpose-built round reactive steel target designed exclusively for use with the Stag Point Industries Hatchet Hanger and Hatchet Arm systems. Developed around IPSC-style training and competition shooting, these targets deliver fast visual feedback, reliable movement, and smooth target presentation when paired with compatible Hatchet mounting systems.

Manufactured from lab-tested 8mm AR500 armour plate, these round gongs are designed to handle all calibres commonly encountered in IPSC competition and practical shooting environments. The forward-angled resting position allows the target to react by rotating rearward when struck, creating a clean and highly visible reactive target system.

Unlike traditional falling plate systems where the target drops to the ground after impact, the SPI Hatchet System is designed so the target falls rearward and becomes non-visible from the shooter’s perspective while remaining attached to the hanger system. This allows for faster stage resets, reduced downtime, and eliminates the need to continually pick targets up off the ground between strings or stages.

The 8mm AR500 version is the ideal choice for IPSC-style centrefire handgun applications and is designed around the calibres commonly encountered in IPSC competition shooting. It provides excellent durability, long service life, and reliable reactive movement while maintaining practical target weight and consistent operation.

For shooters training with lower-powered rimfire calibres such as .22LR, .22 Magnum, or .17HMR, we also offer dedicated 6mm Mild Steel and 6mm AR450 versions. These lighter target options are better suited to lower-energy rounds and allow improved target actuation while reducing operating costs during high-volume practice and training.
