Overview

The Duel-Master Final Paddle Target – Full Kit is a complete duelling-style reactive target system designed for rimfire shooters seeking a more durable, abrasion-resistant setup than mild steel. This kit includes a powder-coated steel base plate, a raw, uncoated 6mm AR450 armour steel face plate, and x2 Post Top Flip Paddle Brackets — creating a fully functional flip-paddle system that bolts directly onto your 90x35 Post Top Target Mount (sold separately).

Perfect for cowboy-action matches, reactive speed drills, and rimfire training, this setup is optimised for shooters using .22LR, .22 Magnum, or .17 HMR where increased durability is required.

How It Works

Both paddles start in the outward-facing position. In a duel, Shooter A engages the left paddle, and Shooter B engages the right. When hit, each paddle flips inward toward the centre. The first paddle to flip sits in front, providing instant visual confirmation of who hit first — making it ideal for head-to-head matches and fast-paced shooting stages.

Recommended Paddle Sizes

✅ Best: 100mm paddles – reliable flipping with .22LR and excellent visibility
✅ Optional: 150mm paddles – compatible but may require .22 Magnum or .17 HMR for reliable actuation
❌ Not Recommended: 50mm paddles – undersized for this system’s scale

⚠️ Performance Tips

• 150mm paddles may not flip consistently with .22LR due to limited energy

• For best results:
  • Use 6mm AR450 or 6mm mild steel 100mm paddles for .22LR
  • Use 6mm AR450 100mm or 150mm paddles for .22 Magnum or .17 HMR

⚠️ Paddle Compatibility Notice

This system requires paddles with the lock-in feature, designed for the DT-Series Duelling Trees and Duel-Master System.

• ✅ Compatible: DT-Series lock-in flip paddles (DT-Alpha, DT-Cadet, DT-Pro, etc.)

• ❌ Not Compatible: Scout Duelling Tree paddles — they lack the lock-in mechanism and will not work with this system

Paddle Selection Tips

• Match paddle material to face plate where possible (e.g. AR450 + AR450)

• Using a stronger face plate with lighter paddles is acceptable, but the system rating defaults to the weakest component

• Example: Using 6mm mild steel paddles with this AR450 face plate = safe, but system remains rated to mild steel limits

✔ Rimfire rifle use (angled only): 25m+
✔ Max velocity: 2,650 fps
✔ Min velocity: 700 fps
✔ Max energy: 300 ft-lbs
❌ Not suitable for centrefire rifles or high-velocity jacketed projectiles
⚠️ Subsonic rounds under 1,100 fps may not reliably flip paddles
⚠️ Rounds below 500 fps may not fragment properly, increasing ricochet risk
